Inconsistent use of signs and traffic control devices by contractors largely contributes to road hazards and accidents both to road users and workers. When not properly addressed, it may also add to the daily inconvenience, not only of road users but also to the riding public. Most contractors are not aware of the government requirements on the use of temporary signs and devices and how to properly manage traffic during road constructions. Program objectives: The overall program aims to provide participants the basic principles on safe traffic management that will result to good communication between the road worker and road user during road construction. Specifically, participants shall be able to: -Learn the basic principle of worksite traffic management. -Be aware of government standards on temporary signs and traffic control devices required during road construction. -Prepare worksite layout of signs and devices. -Effectively use Traffic Controllers (Flagmen). -Be aware on the appropriate PPEs for road workers.
