STANDARD FIRST AID (SFA) About the Program: The Standard First Aid (SFA) course is a 32-hour (4-day) intensive training program under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). It is designed to provide participants with in-depth knowledge and hands-on skills to handle medical emergencies effectively. This course enhances the preparedness and capability of employees to manage workplace accidents, injuries, and illnesses while ensuring compliance with DOLE’s Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Standards. Course Objectives: At the end of the training, participants shall be able to: ● Apply comprehensive first aid principles and techniques in workplace emergencies. ● Perform Basic Life Support (BLS), including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) usage. ● Manage common workplace injuries, such as fractures, burns, bleeding, and wounds. ● Respond effectively to medical emergencies, including heart attacks, strokes, and respiratory distress. ● Demonstrate proper transportation techniques for injured individuals and effective use of first aid equipment. ● Develop and implement workplace emergency response plans to enhance safety.
